Our Scholarships are managed by the Outer Banks Community Foundation.
First Flight Society Scholarship: The First Flight Society established this merit-based award in 2008 to provide scholarships to deserving high school seniors or current COA students who plan to pursue a career in aviation. This includes aviation maintenance and technology. Students from Ocracoke or any Dare, Currituck, Camden, or Pasquotank high school may apply, or, current COA students from any location. This scholarship is administered by College of The Albemarle. To apply or for more information, please click here.
Any first-year or returning COA student is eligible to apply for COA Foundation Scholarships.
To apply, click on the COA Foundation Scholarship Application link below. You will use your
COA login credentials to open the application. By completing and submitting the application,
you have applied for every scholarship available through the COA Foundation listed below.
Once you submit the application you will receive an email confirming your application has been
received. Submitting the application does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship however,
the more detailed your responses the more likely you are to qualify for a scholarship. All
questions followed by a red asterisk (*) must be completed in order to submit your application.
Awarding will begin in April and continue through the summer months. You will be notified by
the COA Foundation via your COA email if you are awarded a scholarship. If you have any
